FAQ's

  • Do you do digital/PDF versions of your patterns?
Digital/PDF patterns of all styles will be available in the near future. You’ll be able to purchase A0 pdfs (including UK sizes 8 to 20) which you can download and get printed online or at your local copy shop, you’ll also be sent a full version of the instructions which you can print on A4 paper or view on your computer.
  • Do you do A4 print at home versions of the patterns?
No, and we won’t be selling the patterns in this format anywhere. If you print the patterns at home on multiple sheets of A4 there are too many ways it can go wrong, taping multiple sheets of paper together in an accurate way is VERY difficult and time consuming and your printer might print out at the wrong scale which will lead you to having a much harder time creating the end garment. It is not an accurate way to produce a pattern and we want you have a good time sewing…not a frustrating one!
  • Do you have any patterns that go above UK size 20?
Currently we haven’t but this is something we will consider in the future, if you would like us to create these we would be interested to hear from you, you can can get in touch by using the contact form and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
  • What does is cost for delivery?
You can find our charges on our delivery and returns page.
  • Have you got more styles available?
We have plenty more in the pipeline, if you sign up to our newsletter you’ll receive an email as soon as a new style is available. If you don’t want to sign up, you can keep an eye on our social media accounts, all new styles will be posted there.
  • What kind of paper are the patterns printed on?
All our patterns are printed on a beautiful white 20gsm paper. We believe this is far better than the 60gsm paper that a lot a pattern companies use. Our paper is much easier to pin to the fabric particularly on lightweight fabric like silk. It is semi-transparent so allows you to place your pieces so you don’t end up with the fabric print in inappropriate positions, also it's easier to match patterns at seam lines. Easier to store and more environmentally friendly, lighter paper equals less trees to make it! You can iron it too, but make sure your steam is OFF and you setting is only 1 or 2 on the iron.
  • What do the skill levels mean?
We try to be realistic about the skill levels needed to complete one of our patterns, below is an idea of what our skill levels mean. Beginner - You have some sewing skills and you can sew a straight line and understand the basics of cutting out and making clothes. You avoid patterns with zips, buttonholes, shirt style collars and cuffs! Intermediate - You have made quite a few garments and are now bored by 'Beginner patterns' and you're looking for some more challenges such as collars, cuffs and set in sleeves. You can put in zips and make buttonholes (but would rather avoid them!) Advanced - You've done a lot of sewing and are eager and happy to tackle collars and revers, linings and more complicated construction techniques.
  • I've got a question I can't find an answer too, what do I do?
We're really happy to answer any related questions you may have (if we can😁) Please feel free to use the contact form and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
  • How often do you send a newsletter?
Makepeace and Moore will not bombard you with emails and newsletters, as a rough estimate we will only send one newsletter a month and other emails will only be sent when we're adding a new pattern or something we know you'll be interested in, and remember you can always unsubscribe...even though we'd rather you didn't☺️
