THE GILLSMAN is a compact top with clean straight lines. The design is fantastically flexible so you can make any number of variations. It is a neat garment that is a joy to wear and is very flattering. It’s semi-fitted at the bust and shoulders, with either short or long set-in sleeves. It has a subtle trapeze shape which flares out slightly from the bust and finishes at the hip with side slits at the hemline.
Composed of horizontal panels you can choose to mix and match with prints or colours and what’s more you can join the pattern’s panels to make multiple variations. You can even be super thrifty and use remnants you have left over from other projects, just be a little cautious when using differing weights of fabric as this can effect hang and fit and the washability!! Or keep it simple and make it in a single fabric. Add as much (or as little) topstitching as takes your fancy. You can have up to four ‘in-seam’ pockets, its your choice…. maybe just one on the front... or one on the back, or one in front and two on the back... and so it goes on…
The Gillsman is easy to wear. Team it casually with jeans and shorts, or for work with straight and wide leg trousers or A-line skirts.
